Twiga glasswool Insulation

One of the recognized products for thermal and acoustic insulation, Twiga Insul is light gold and is a lightweight, compressible insulation material consisting of fine, long, inorganic glass fibres bonded together by a thermosetting binder.

Twiga Insulation  is available in flexible blankets (rolls) and slabs or boards, in various densities and thicknesses and with a wide range of factory-applied facings which include reinforced fire-rated aluminum foil, glass tissue, black glass tissue and a wide range of imported premium facings.

Thermal Performance
Cooling costs in a building insulated throughout with glass wool can be reduced significantly. The use of glass wool for the thermal insulation of external walls and ceilings has been shown to reduce energy consumption by 20% to 30%.

Fire Safety

Twiga Insul glass wool made from pure silica sand will not support combustion even in direct, prolonged contact with flames. It does not emit toxic fumes or smoke, which are the two biggest health hazards during a fire. Glass wool is a completely fire-safe product complying with the following standards:

  • BS (British Standard) 476 part 4, ISO 1182, IS 3808, International Maritime Organization (IMO) – NON-COMBUSTIBLE (best class).
  • Reaction to fire A1 as per EN 13501 (best class).
  • BS 476 part 6 – Does not PROPAGATE FIRE.
  • BS 476 part 7- Class 1 – SURFACE SPREAD OF FLAME is NIL.
  • Class 0 complied (best class).
  • BS 476 part 5 – Designated as P – (not easily ignitable).

  • Applications

    • Pre-engineered metal buildings – factory, warehouse, supermarket, showrooms, aircraft hangar etc.
    • Public and residential buildings – wall and roof insulation, facade, drywall and acoustic panels.
    • Heating ventilation and air conditioning – duct-thermal, acoustic and mechanical rooms.
    • Textile mills – roofing and humidification duct.
